Contest and exhibition: UNDER 35 - Milan Design Week 1999

13 - 18 April 1999

Varied proposals far from the temptation of “teaching” and representing choices of trend.
OPOS selection is on the contrary the attempt to build an “observatory” of the young design that in the voices heterogeneity looks for its true meaning.

Simple violations of triviality and of homogeneity of fashions, violations that reinvent themselves through original languages with no fear of breaking, behaving like that, the content of the competition’s rules.

An object conceived this way can teach to those who own it how to be used, lived and consumed in an alternative form.

This ninth exhibition has structured itself in a progressive way as a place of discussion and questioning, towards a different conceiving of the notice of the competition, where OPOS yet remains a “laboratory” and a place where to listen to dissonant messages.
