Staged Reading: APEIROGON - Based on the novel by Colum McCann, directed by Marco MelloniFeaturing Caterina Corsi and Matteo Campese

9 September 2026

On 9 September 2026, OPOS presents APEIROGON, a staged reading based on Colum McCann’s acclaimed novel Apeirogon (published in Italy by Feltrinelli), adapted and directed by Marco Melloni.

The performance features Caterina Corsi and Matteo Campese, renowned voices of Radio Freccia (RTL Group), alongside live musical reinterpretations by David Campese, who reimagines songs by Kanye West, Francesco De Gregori, Nick Cave, Paolo Nutini, Jordan Rakei and Niccolò Fabi, creating a powerful dialogue between spoken word and music.

Following the success of Fragments of Fury, based on John Steinbeck’s The Grapes of Wrath, Marco Melloni returns to contemporary literature with a stage adaptation of one of the most significant novels of recent years.

Apeirogon tells the true story of two fathers—one Israeli, one Palestinian—separated by a wall and a seemingly intractable conflict, yet united by the same devastating tragedy: the loss of their daughters. Through a spare yet deeply evocative dramatic adaptation, the staged reading weaves together the novel’s fragmented narrative into a theatrical dialogue that explores grief, memory and the possibility of recognising the humanity of the other.

The adaptation preserves the full emotional power of McCann’s work, transforming two seemingly irreconcilable monologues into a single voice capable of telling the story of the Israeli–Palestinian conflict from a profoundly human and universal perspective. It is a journey of listening and reflection that invites audiences to engage with themes of peace, coexistence and reconciliation.

The performance runs for approximately 60 minutes.

Caterina Corsi is an actress and acting teacher who graduated from the Teatro Stabile di Torino Drama School under the direction of Luca Ronconi. Active across theatre, film and television, she is also one of the voices of Radio Freccia and a member of the socially engaged theatre collective Voci Nel Deserto (“Voices in the Desert”).

Matteo Campese is a radio presenter, writer and lecturer in radio broadcasting and communication. A long-standing voice of Radio Freccia and RTL 102.5, he hosts the group’s major live events, including Power Hits Estate from the Arena di Verona.

David Campese is a singer-songwriter, producer and guitarist. He studied songwriting at BIMM London and has written and produced music for a number of emerging artists. In 2023, he won the FAME RMX Contest organised by Asian Fake.
