Live performance: Les Biologistes Marins
27 June 2026
On June 27, 2026, OPOS hosts a live performance by Les Biologistes Marins, an audiovisual project formed by Beatrice Miniaci and Anton Sconosciuto, a duo of multi-instrumentalists blending music and visual material into an immersive and sensory experience.
Through voice, flutes, organ, drums, and synthesizers, Les Biologistes Marins create fluid and layered sonic landscapes, capable of transporting both listeners and performers into a suspended and refined dimension. Their approach to sound develops far from rigid definitions or predetermined idioms: using ambient music as a point of departure, the duo seeks a personal grammar focused more on the perceptual power of sound than on its aesthetic form.
The project was born as a continuous practice of exploration, investigating the timbral and transformative possibilities of instruments while integrating elements of refined electronics and acoustic experimentation. This shared research translates into highly evocative performances, where every sonic element is treated as living matter.
Currently, Les Biologistes Marins are engaged in a series of artistic residencies dedicated to collecting materials, impressions, and recordings from different aquatic environments. These experiences give rise to site-specific worksreflecting on water as an aesthetic, symbolic, and material element, exploring its meanings and transformations.
Among the project’s releases are If Places Were Sounds (JIPO Records, 2024) and Looking Out For Dolphins(Kohlhaas Records / JIPO Records, 2025), a sound suite composed during a residency at Fondazione Alghero and conceived as an acoustic mapping of the territory between coastline and inland landscapes. An immersive work born from improvisational and compositional sessions intertwining memory, perception, and landscape.
