Concert: FANTASIEß - Margo Sanda

5 May 2026

Milan is preparing to welcome one of the most radical and elusive voices of the new European experimental scene. On May 5 at 9:00 PM, at OPOS, Margo Sanda will present FANTASIEß live, her new album set for release on April 28 via JIPO Records.

Joining her on stage will be drummer Giacomo Baronchelli, for an intense and immersive performance capable of traversing constantly shifting sonic territories. Her music takes shape as a living organism, balancing song form, deconstruction, and vocal research, giving rise to intimate and unpredictable soundscapes.

FANTASIEß is a work of exploration and transformation: an open laboratory made of experiments, encounters, and evolving compositional practices. The album weaves together elements of pop, serial music, jazz, prog rock, spoken word, and electronic collage, alternating melancholic and psychedelic atmospheres with sudden sonic outbursts—physical and visceral.

Born from an encounter with free improvisation, the project took shape during the artist’s first year at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory (RMC) in Copenhagen. Here, Margo Sanda developed a cyclical compositional method based on collaboration with musicians from diverse backgrounds: improvisation sessions are recorded and later reworked in a layered process that leads to an open and dynamic final form.

Within this journey, a strongly physical expressive dimension also emerges: the voice pushes toward new limits—between breath, strain, and tension—recovering an intense emotional charge that finds its natural space in performance.

The result is a listening experience that calls for active participation, inviting the audience to resonate with the artist. A journey through personal visions and contrasts, where fragility and strength coexist in an unstable balance.
