The New Italian Design

The Moving Landscape of New Italian Design

Triennale of Milano
19 January 2007 – 25 April 2007

Video by Pierluigi Anselmi

The exhibition is a display of the results that were selected following the research that was done into ‘New Italian Design’, launched by the Milan Triennial in April 2006 and aimed at young Italian designers.
New Italian Design was analysed as a phenome-non with its own autonomous characteristics compared to the tradition of the Grand Masters.
What emerged was a map that was not limited to just furniture design, but which covered all the new forms of communication within the profession during the 21st century: from food to the Web, graphics, fashion, textiles, copyrighters, jewellery designers and multimedia technicians.
